Physical Education is a foundation subject within the National Curriculum and is taught to all pupils on a regular basis. We try to give all the children the opportunity to participate in a variety of physical activities in order for them to become physically confident and to take a lifelong interest in their own physical fitness and health.
The teachers are supported by the work of two P.E. coaches who assist with the delivering of high quality lessons. In these the children have the opportunities to develop the skills, techniques and rules of a wide variety of games, dance and gymnastic activities. They are also able to extend their agility, balance and co-ordination and engage in competitive and co-operative physical activities. We provide swimming instruction for children in years 1 to 6 for one term in each school year.
There are also a range of extra-curricular P.E. activities available for the children to participate in, which provide additional coaching and more opportunities for competition with other schools in the community.
