Essex Police – notification of scam

Essex Police are raising awareness about a scam that involves companies approaching young people to become brand ambassadors. 

These companies apparently make contact  on social media sites asking young people to help promote their clothing in exchange for discounts.  They will then ask the purchasers to cover expensive shipping costs for overpriced products – some that may never arrive.

The Police are requesting that schools help make parents and CYP aware of this and would urge people who are concerned to contact Action Fraud by calling 0300 123 2040 or by visiting www.actionfraud.police.uk/reporting-fraud-and-cyber-crime.
