In our school children are taught Spanish through years 3 to 6. They are given the opportunity to appreciate spoken and written language using a variety of sources. Children are taught to speak with confidence and fluency using correct intonation and pronunciation. They are also taught to write using correct grammatical structures. Children are encouraged to appreciate and enjoy stories, poetry and song in the target language.
Learning a language deepens children’s understanding of the world and equips them with the tools to succeed in later life. It also encourages them to think about and appreciate other cultures around the world.
